“You Don’t Have To Push – They’ll Fall In By Themselves” ~ Thomas E. Urich (Sr.)

I Used to Live with a Narcissist!!

UPDATED 17 May 2015 from an earlier post

In some ways, everybody is a narcissist.  A little bit of pride – a little bit of boast – a little bit of bravado.  These people were in Band in the public school system.  They were cheerleaders or majorettes.  They were on the football or basketball team.

There were not, however, on the swim team.**

There is a difference.  A healthy amount of confidence not to be confused with self-worship or idolatry of a greater being or of a tuba or even a greater devotion to nothing. Or not.

I Think

Sometimes people don’t even realize what they are doing.  They are so wound up that they become insensitive to what is actually going on around them.  They think evil is at work and they become so offensive (in a blindly stupid sort of way) that they begin to produce actual evil themselves.  They have been “hooked” by Satan.  Or Facebook.  Same thing.

Twitter to the Rescue!

Every kid on this city block has two facebook identities.  And one of them is a cop.  The other one has one leg missing (not a military vet but a bassoon player who fell out of the 3rd floor dorm window) and plays Angry Birds at least 3 hours every day.  Twitter Users – on the other hand – are flying across the country to a gig in a small town of sheep-herders and/or riding in a helicopter in Iraq with Lance Armstrong.

There is a big difference.

Facebook users get too narrow.  They think they are on a virtual soapbox that a Liberal Mayor from AnyTown Democrat USA proclaimed as Rainbow Required Reading Month has etched into your psyche and sealed it with hummus.  I see a trail of cashew crumbs (ignored by fuzzy cats) leading to a calcified pet drinking fountain next to the refrigerator – and next to that a stack of Sunday inserts dating back to The Hindenberg.  Focus.  Come on, people.

I really don’t care about your opinions because they are so beautifully displayed like a magical desktop publishing program from AOL using technology developed by Xerox in 1977.  Give it up. There are real IT people making real advances in computer wizardry who have to re-certify their skills every 6 months let alone try to get Pagemaker to run on X-Box.  Shut Up!

I'm a freaking Genius

You know the ones.  They are smarter than you are because they listen to NPR.  They don’t drink alcohol.  Ever.  They are so broad-minded that they check only Snopes to form the basis of their doctoral dissertation and they have just re-modeled their kitchen to the tune of $16,000 and they don’t  cook but 4 times a year.  Gluten free.

It is a real disorder. And 99% of you nut cases don't have it!

Get a Grip on Yourself

If a person decides to engage in a creative writing experiment – a new form of entertainment which I will term “TXT Comedy” for lack of a better acronym (for now) – and it produces reactions like the threats of a SWAT Team coming to your house while you are away on vacation  – it is not because you are stupid, it is because you have placed your mind somewhere the sun does not shine.

Help Is Available

Please Remember God Loves You.  Whether you believe in Him or not – that is your freedom of choice and I won’t try to force legislation to make you bake me a Masonic birthday cake with swastikas on it – and enjoy Life and Be Yourself.  Don’t judge others.  And eat a balanced diet of grains that will return your bowel movements to normal and help divert your attention away from me for a bit.

**Apologies to my high school teacher buddy John Wieck (wherever you are) who was not the guy responsible for making so many of my graduating classmates’ homosexual in later life.  I’m okay with that.  Just ask Paco at Grand Coney.

The Hardest Part About Good Political Writing

I Want To Say Something “Fair” That Everyone Will Accept

Journalists listen to Brain Ellis at M-Live's "Meet and Greet" in Grand Rapids on July 24th.

Journalists listen to Brain Ellis at M-Live’s “Meet and Greet” in Grand Rapids on July 24th.

The Author (Me!) sits (in the right-middle of the picture) and tries to think like the Reader.  The Reader tries to think about why the Author wrote this in that particular way.  Straight away we are dealing with negative acceptance of the product without a word yet shared.

Which brings me to the True Point of this Blog today – How can you “setup” your loyal following of readers (your reader base) with a high quality offering while dedicating yourself to Eternal Truth, Justice and The American way and all that other related stuff from The Daily Planet and Jimmy Olsen……..??

You must say it like it is.  That may not be politically correct and it may not be immediately popular as I write this, but allow me a few more syllables, please…………

Who has been consistently transparent like no other government official before in recorded history?  Who gets called on the carpet for denying the renewal of a US postage stamp for the 5th time since 1998?  Wake Up!!  Voting NO is not denying that breast cancer research is not important – it is being conscious that the world out there has multiple problems and you need to prioritize! The accusations against Justin Amash made by Brian Ellis last evening at M-Live Media Studios were so ridiculous that you would have thought he was running for Kindergarten Monitor and not the United States Congress.

BUT – That is exactly what the “Movers” and the “Shakers” are doing (what some refer to as ‘The Business Elite’) and if you think that is an indication of mental softness or a weak conservative stance on the part of Incumbent Rep. Justin Amash you have another think coming………..You Are Possibly Blind!

Brian Ellis pitiful turnout

Interesting Fact:  Look at all of the Tables where people are supposedly there to hear Brian Ellis speak about his qualifications.  Look very closely.  How many people have glasses or even cups full of any kind of beverage?  How many people have plates of food?  This is a “staged photo.”  You might as well watch a pot boil.

As a Writer I can’t say anything positive about Brian Ellis.  Lord knows I tried.  But you can’t jump from Romper Room school board experience to the Chambers of Congress without taking a few steps in between!  Brian Ellis is NOT your answer for Conservative representation in the 3rd District.  Brian Ellis is not credible.

Justin Amash for Congress #3 – He represents the Common American and he represents us in the 3rd District.  No Questions Asked.

It’s Time To Restore American Values

What Does It Mean To Hold a Conviction of Value in Anything?

Progressive this………Progressive That……………..Polyanna wants Change!

Maybe the way things are just need to be better communicated or re-inserted back into the public education system.  Maybe ‘change‘ for the sake of change is not the right answer.

We’ll Meet Again!

Is it not every right of every American born in America to be able to hold personal values and opinions without having to be compared or cast a federal terrorist by a whimpering competitor or the collected opposition?  What makes it even harder to understand is that an established media source prints or promotes one childish quote from a common thinker across the country and it becomes front page news.

I’m not ashamed or afraid of the way I was brought up – I am thankful and proud to have learned things about life just the way I did.  I don’t have to apologize for my beliefs and I will engage anyone who may hold a differing point of view reasonably and calmly without taking to the airwaves screaming about international catastrophe.

Come On America.  You don’t have to be Polyanna just because you got your hands dirty.

RESTORE AMERICA NOW – POLYANNA WANTS A CRACKER!

You Can’t Blame This On Bush

Most Americans are probably unaware that over the past two weeks the US has launched at least eight drone attacks in Yemen, in which dozens have been killed. It is the largest US escalation of attacks on Yemen in more than a decade. The US claims that everyone killed was a “suspected militant,” but Yemeni citizens have for a long time been outraged over the number of civilians killed in such strikes. The media has reported that of all those killed in these recent US strikes, only one of the dead was on the terrorist “most wanted” list.
